Climate Heroes and GCCA to collaborate for awareness campaign on climate change

The Climate Heroes team is happy to announce that startin January 2014, we are entering a long-term collaboration with GCCA (tcktcktck.org) in order to showcase the profiles of Climate Heroes worldwide, in anticipation for a major awareness campaign led by GCCA.

The aim of the campaign is to launch a call to sign a petition in the Spring of 2014, and gather several million signatures, in anticipation for the Fall 2014 Climate Talks. By showing the world leaders that the public cares and demands immediate action and concrete steps from world leaders, the aim is to have them commit to actual actions and proposals for the 2015 Paris Climate Talks.

To carry out this mandate, the Climate Heroes team will be working from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, to produce Video and Photo portraits of Climate Heroes. We will continue our collaboration with IRD (the French Institut de Recherche pour le Développement) in the locations were their scientific teams operate.

If you are in the field and want to join us, or if you know Climate Heroes who could be included in this amazing initiative, please feel free to contact us or to submit a portrait to us on the Submit a Portrait Page!

The Climate Heroes project joins the Tcktcktck.org alliance

The Climate Heroes project was created in August 2010. Since then, we have worked to show the amazing involvement and dedication of citizens, women and men, worldwide, who started acting to mitigate climage change.

At their own level, they decided then needed to start acting. By their example we hope to inspire more of us to follow their lead.

Scientists, media persons and entrepreneurs are equally important in this movement. They work to understand the effects of Climate Change, increase awareness, or come up with innovations and business models that will allow us to move away from a spiral of carbon emmission to a more sustainable living.

We are extremely excited as a team to announce today that we are joining efforts with The Global Call for Climate Action (GCCA), more generally known in the public as tcktcktck.org, to increase awareness about the work of those Climate Heroes.

TckTckTck represents an unprecedented network of more than 400 nonprofit organizations led by GCCA, the Global Call for Climate Action. As described on their mission statement :
Our shared mission is to harness the respective strengths of faith, development, science, environment, youth, labor, and other civil society organizations to achieve a world safe from runaway climate change.  The GCCA works to connect and facilitate the efforts of organizations from across the globe to communicate the urgency of climate change, campaign on the solutions before us and to mobilize the pubic in support of strong, equitable government action at the national and international levels.

This partnership will allow Climate Heroes to benefit from a relay for all the stories we produce, and much more in the future. Stay tuned for more developments in the future!
