Climate Heroes speaking in NYC, UN Climate Week

Climate Heroes founder Maxime Riché spoke in NYC on September 23rd during the Climate week preceding the UN Climate Summit requested by Ban Ki-moon.

It was a huge honor to be able to present our work with Climate Heroes at a dinner sponsored by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The night saw the launch of photographer Henry Dallal’s new book Addressing Climate Change. Speakers also included R.K. Pachauri, IPCC Chair and Nobel Laureate, the Secretary of State of Ecuador, Wael Hmaidan, Director of the Climate Action Network, UK climate change Minister, Greg Barker.

The dinner was scheduled at the end of the Climate week, and featured prominent environmental leaders spanning politics, business, entertainment, diplomacy, civil society, and academia, and also featured a discussion on the next steps for addressing climate change.

Also annouced was the launch of, a coalition website on which Climate Heroes is at the front of production for most of the portraits on the website. This movement is featuring the Leonardo DiCaprio foundation, and echoes Leo DiCaprio’s Speech at the UN earlier that day:
